Right to Information (RTI)

The Right to Information Act-2005 was passed by the Parliament to empower the citizens by making information accessible to everybody in order to promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of the Govt. and give a boost to the democratic process. Accordingly, an RTI cell has been constituted by our college to provide relevant information sought by any citizen within a stipulated time frame as per the RTI Act. A Public Information Officer(PIO) nominated by the Principal is entrusted with this task. An Assistant PIO has also been appointed for smooth functioning of the RTI cell. The Head of the Institution acts as the First Appellate Authority. An applicant may appeal before him/her in case the PIO fails to furnish the necessary information.
