DEGREE EXAMINATION

The Examination in our college are purely based on the Examination schedule of Sambalpur University. Every student is required to take all the examinations prescribed for her in a year.

A fine will be imposed in each paper for absence either in the Test or the Annual Examination. Imposition of fine and its amount depend on the desire of the Staff Council.

Students violating examination rules by resorting to malpractices or to any other action that affects discipline in the examination room will be severely punished either with fine or by any other punishment as the Principal considers fit.

Lectures and Tutorials will continue till four weeks prior to the date of the commencement of the University Examination. Fifty percent of the tutorial classes held in each subject should be devoted to written work. The written work of each student is to be evaluated by the tutor and the mark awarded should be clearly written in the tutorial attendance register. These marks are to be subsequently entered in the departmental register to be used for ready reference in the staff council meeting for annual promotion or sending up for the University or Council Examination. Each Student should carefully maintain separate tutorial examination books for different subjects and should produce them when needed by the teachers or college authorities.

Students who do not fulfil the minimum requirement of pass marks will not be sent up to appear in the University Examinations.

 

UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION FOR +3 ARTS or SCIENCE

There shall be three examinations for +3 students - one at the end of each year. There will be no second examination. A candidate may on payment of the prescribed fees appear only in the subjects in which she fails to obtain pass marks within two years of the first appearance.

  • A candidate who fails in the aggregate has to appear all papers of the examination again.
  • A candidate has to pass all the university examinations within five years of admission.

Pass - A minimum of 30% in each paper and 36% of marks in the aggregate.
Pass with Distinction - A minimum of 30% in each paper and 50% in the aggregate in the first appearance.
Second class Honours - A minimum of 30% in each paper and 45% in aggregate of all Honours subjects.
Second class Honours with Distinction - In addition to 2nd class Honours, a minimum of 50% marks awarded in the papers, other than the Honours subjects in the first appearance.
First class Honours - A minimum of 30% in each paper and 60% marks in the aggregate of the Honours subjects.
First class Honours with Distinction: - In addition to the first class Honours. i) a minimum of 50% marks of the total awarded in papers other than the Honours papers in the first appearance. ii) Provided that in practical, a candidate must secure separately a minimum of 40% marks in each practical subject at the +3 Part-I, Part-II, Part-III examinations separately.

UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION FOR M.A.

There shall be two examinations for the P.G course (Odia) one at the end of each year conducted by smbalpur University. To be eligible to appear at the examination a student has to fill-up the examination form and deposit requisite examination fees prescribed by the University. First Class: - 60% marks in aggregate. Second Class: - 50% marks in aggregate.
